This past year, the motto of our Westlake High School has been "Unleash
The Thunder". In conjunction with
this theme, our school marching band has been sweeping competitions and
bringing home several first place trophies, including 2 4A State Championships!
In the climate where some high school bands
are struggling, our marching band has
been not only thriving, but working hard to bring pride and unity to
Westlake High and to the communities in Utah County.
As a special honor, the Westlake Marching Band has been
asked to be a Utah Ambassador at the annual Pearl Harbor Parade, this December of 2014. They will be given a rare experience to
participate in the beautiful and emotional parade as well as visit Pearl Harbor
Memorial, the museums and monuments and refresh their knowledge of this
important time in our history. We feel
this will leave a lasting impression and give them greater respect and love for
our country and for the men and women who served in our military branches.
With over 100 students in this amazing band, we are hoping
to make the financial burden of the travel cost a little lighter for some of
the families of the students, and so we are asking for financial contributions from corporations and businesses such as yours to
share in our pride of this opportunity for the Westlake Thunder Marching
Band.
